Hi!

I'm a new QuarkXpress User, I have mostly used Indesign in the past.

I am just wondering if there is a way to remove (not hide) the guidelines once you've placed them?

Thanks!!

Hi,

You didn't say what version of Quark you are using. In Quark 6 there is a Guide Manager. If you have this version look under the menu item "Utilities" then choose Guide Manager. The second tab is "Remove or Lock Guides"

I can't remember which version Quark included this feature.

HOlding down the apple key click and drag guide to the right as far as possible. It will dissapear.
Hope that helps.

Hi

Sorry, I forgot to add what version. I'm using QuarkXpress 4.1 for PC.

Thanks!

Try holding down Alt and clicking the horizontal ruler to remove horizontal guides, and vertical ruler to remove vertical guides.

If the guides extend beyond the document, then this will usually work. If not, you have to make sure the top left corner of the document is hidden behind the rulers. For example, the top left corner of your window might show 1" into your document.

You can download the guidemanager for quark 4.1 from
or you can drag them back to the rulers or any of the other sugestions.
