Hi guys,

I recently decided to remove Blindwrite simply because I wasn't using it.

Anyway the uninstalling went fine, but I've just noticed that when I put a blank disc in my CDR I still get the option of using Blindwrite in the autoplay choices Anyway of removing this ?

Cheers,

SW.

To completely remove the handlers:

. CleanHandlers (freeware):
. or, Start, Run, regedit
The handler can be in several locations:

Replace the actual AutoPlay Handler text in place of <HANDLER NAME>

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\Handlers\<HANDLER NAME>

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\HandleCDBurningOnArrival]
Value Name <HANDLER NAME>

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\MixedContentOnArrival]
Value Name <HANDLER NAME>

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\PlayCDAudioOnArrival]
Value Name <HANDLER NAME>

[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\PlayDVDMovieOnArrival]
Value Name <HANDLER NAME>

[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\PlayMusicFilesOnArrival]
Value Name <HANDLER NAME>

[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\PlayVideoFilesOnArrival]
Value Name <HANDLER NAME>

[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\ShowPicturesOnArrival]
Value Name <HANDLER NAME>

[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers\EventHandlers\VideoCameraArrival]
Value Name <HANDLER NAME>

I should note as it is confusing, TweakUI in its edit function for any handler allows you to remove an entry by unchecking its role. The Delete function applies only to entries created by TweakUI.

CleanHandler will delete the handler entry completely, as will the regedit.

Great!

All I could do though is edit the handlers? They still remain in TweakUI don't they?

Great tool though, full of possibilities! I've heard of it before, but just never had the need to use it?

I think I'll now give CleanHandlers a go!

When using RegEdit though, should I delete the keys that I find or just edit them?

Thanks,

SW.

Nice!

The job is done! CleanHandlers - What an excellent tool? Now they're completely gone I assume?

Thanks a lot guys!

Cheers,

SW.
