Removing banners

I'm using Microsoft Explorer 5. This is the first time I have seen banners and ads flying around on the top bar of the explorer frame (Not part of the html pages). AArgh! There must be some settings where you can turn them off? I can't use a browser that works like this. They drive me mad!
 
If it's a browser you got from a software house, or free internet company, you're stuck.
There are ways to remove "branding", but the easiest is to get the "clean" version, directly from Cheers,
