Hi all-
Due to some poor planning (seemed good at the time), we installed Exchange 5.5 on a Win2K Domain controller about a year ago. Luckily, it's been working great!
The Win2K domain is about to be a problem (long story, but the powers that be restrict who can have their own ADs).
We are planning to uninstall AD and then join the Exchange server to an NT4 domain and reassign permissions to the mailboxes. I know it sounds really backwards, but has anyone done this before? Successfully?
Obviously, I'm planning on making PST backups of everyone's mailboxes and getting a good tape backup before trying this.
Any words of wisdom, or comforting thoughts? Job openings if this takes a really ugly turn?
Thanks!
