Can anyone help me remove the VFP 9 Beta? It's expired and I want to get rid of it before moving on.

The instructions say to run SetUp.Exe but that tells me that I need to install some prerequisites and then hangs.

Isn't there an uninstall option in your control pannel-> add and remove programs?

That's where it ought to be but there's no sign of VFP 9 in Control Panel.

ReadMe.Htm says to use Setup.Exe to remove VFP 9. I was expecting to get an Install/Repair/Remove option from Setup but all I get is a warning that the PC lacks prerequisites. The PC hangs when I try to let Setup install these prerequisites.

I don't understand what's been going on but if I let Setup install VFP 9 again (even though it's time-expired) then I get VFP 9 in the Control Panel list and I can remove it as normal.

So? Problem solved?

Geoff,

I just un-installed my beta without any problem. I ran Setup, which displayed the screen where you choose: Install pre-requisites; VFP 9.0.; Check for service packs. All three options were enabled. I clicked the middle option. It prompted me to repair, change or uninstall. I choose Uninstall, and it did it.

Not that anyone really needs to know this.

Mike

I did exactly the same within the last few days and that worked ok.

I have Windows XP SP2 and the latest VisFox version 9

You mentioned earlier
The problem's been beaten but I don't feel as though I can say it's been solved.
Perhaps you could explain what you mean?

And...

I'll put my problems down to "Just one of those things".

If two of us were able to remove VFP9 beta then I'm sure your problem can be overcome.
You mentioned about reinstalling VFP9 beta, after that process, did you get the Add/Remove options when you tried to uninstall it?

Reinstalling allowed me to remove the VFP9 Beta so I no longer have a problem.

I can't claim to have solved the problem because I can't explain why it wouldn't uninstall in the first place and I can't explain why going through a complete reinstall process made the uninstall work.
