Hello All,

Hope all is good with you

Got a powerpoint file where the creator place a font by the name of "FRRPUMRK." The file opens up as read-only & when closed or attempt to modify or save is done, it reports that "Some of your file cannot be save with the presentation" further down the popped-up window "License restriction." It is obvious it's not a standard Windows font. I have tried replacing it from the Format>Replace Fonts option however it does not allow the Replace option does not list the questioned font (the strange-named font actually has a question mark next to it) - just presents three standard font options.

I just want to replace the odd font with an arial or something else. Help!

Thanks in Advance (TIA)

Angel~

Hi Angel,

You say the file opens up as read-only. Since PowerPoint lacks a protection scheme, it would appear that the file has been save as a slide-show (.pps extension) or simply has the system read-only attribute applied. You should be able to make the file editable by changing the extension to .ppt and/or unchecking the read-only attibute via File|Properties in Windows Explorer.

There are three approaches I can suggest for clearing out the troublesome font:
1. Use the Format|Replace Fonts option;
2. Open the presentation in 'Normal' or 'Outline' view and check through each slide till you find the font, then either delete & replace the affected text (or maybe even the whole slide);
3. Using File|Save As|Tools, make sure the 'embed true type fonts' option isn't checked.

Cheers
