I've got an extra NAM that has NVM 4.0 along with Cinphony ACD. I would like to convert this NAM to a ACD unit only. Does anyone have the steps to remove the NVM while leaving the Cinphony intact? I searched the FAQs and the web, but came up empty handed.

Thanks.

We never removed the NVM, we just changed the file names so it would not load/start. This essentially turns the NAM into a standalone ACD.
Go to Directory of C:\ACCESS2\STARTUP\STBIN
Renaming the 6 .EXE files to .OLD will cause voicemail not to load on the NAM and negate any of the cross-linked files issue.

SupportDude

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that.

I renamed the 6 .exe files, but NVM still shows in the choice of application screen in the Access Server area. Also, it seems my ACD is not there. Are these files just for NVM?

Yep.
Those are only for NVM.
If you don't see ACD in the choice of apps, perhaps it was removed or never installed.
ACD can be removed in its entirety.
If you go into OS2, is there a CINPHONY directory?

Try F983, pswd, 4, NVM=N.

And, under ACCESS2 programming, set MIN/MAX channels to the number of ports on the nam for ACD.

That doesn't remove VM Rik.
He was looking for a way to take a co-res NAM and use it as an ACD only NAM so he didn't have to worry about the co-res corruption issues.

SupportDude...

There is a Cinphony directory in the tree. I can re-install the Cinphony (I have the disks and Backpack) if need be, and also call Cintech for the S/N as well. I just want to remove or disable the NVM so it doesn't conflict with the NVM on the other 4.105 NAM. I will also disable Minuet on the 4.105 NAM as well. When you rename the 6 .exe files are you still supposed to see NVM as a choice of app in Access admin?

Thanks for the responses.

Also, thanks to Rik for chiming in, any other ideas from you?

SupportDude- That will disable the ablility to leave messages, though. Maybe I'm lucky. I've never had an issue when both applications were installed on 1 NAM.

I know mail and Cintech share files....which ones I don't know.....presumably the files that get corrupted. I would really like to know if mail file extension are NOT changed and vmail is 'turned off' via option 4, will the files run anyway? What exactly does option 4 do? I have had to out various mail files and rebuild mail for crosslinking several times on co-resident NAM's. Usually, mail goes down and won't reload, but ACD stays up. Anyone know?

The cross linked files issue happens when both apps are running. By renaming the files I listed, you completely stop voicemail from starting up when the NAM is booted.

A2X ...
Those files are indeed for voicemail only. You will see it listed because it is still installed, we just removed it's ability to startup.
You should be able to install Cinphony without a problem if you have everything you need. Don't forget about the security dongle.

SupportDude:

So, therefore the F codes from the NVM on the "ACD NAM" will not conflict with the NVM F codes on the "Voice Mail NAM"???

I just want to make sure if I do a F983 or something it doesn't confuse the switch as to which NAM to talk to. I was able to boot the ACD NAM and get into the ACCESS menus from each NAM independently, good sign there.

BTW, thanks for all of your insight.

Thanks Rik!

Sorry A2X ... I been really busy lately.
There should be no conflict as only (1) voicemail is running and therefore registered with the Norstar.
Make sure after you get both NAM's up and running that you disable Set Relocation in the Norstar. It can really cause problems in the event of a power failure when the power is restored.
