I have recieved an old PC from a friend. A Dell Optiplex GX1.
This machine was in use years ago for a business and it has logon windows appear when the machine on startup.
I have been trying to remove these annoying startup screens with no luck.
The screens are as follows:
1. Welcome to Windows (Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to begin)
2.Access prohibited. For assistance contact network administrator.
"I click OK to pass this window"
3.Log On to Windows (User Name
& (Password) etc.
"This is the standard loging screen."
I have tried various posts I found on google on how to remove these screen but not one will work. It seems that the network administrator has this machine configured to prevent login properties from being changed.
I am getting to the stage where I am considering formating the Hard drive, but I do not have another copy of windows 2000 pro to reinstall.
I can log in using the (User Name: Administrator & No password) but my intentions for this machine required it to be started without having to login.
Can anyone help with this one.
