Hi!
I would like to remove the help button from the start menu. I know it can be done by editin the registry with regedit, does anybody know what do I have to change?
Tnx!

You can do this quite easily through Group Policy. You'll need to be a user with Administrative privileges to do this.

1. Click Start > Run > Type 'gpedit.msc'
2. Expand User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar
3. Double click on 'Remove Help menu from Start Menu'
4. Select 'Enabled' then Apply this and click OK.
5. Reboot your PC.

This will remove the Help function from the Start Menu for all users. However, it will not stop them from opening Help by other means.

do you want to remove this for all users? Policies on XP tend to apply to everyone (unless you take steps to stop this).

You could remove it using taskbar properties and apply the change to 'Default User' profile - which would mean all new users would have profiles created without Help.

(I'm assuming this is for standalone machine - I'm also wondering why you would remove help - bit of a bugger for poor users!)

Hi!
