Remove fax extension

I had an extension programmed as a fax port. I need to cahnge the fax to a different extension. I programmed a port with the new extension number and plugged the fax into it (it is a t/r module). Then at the console I went into the fax programming and entered the old extension number and pressed delete then entered the new extension number and pressed enter. If i call the system and enter the new extension number manually it goes to the fax but if I call with a fax machine it still transfers to the old extension number. The system is a Legend R6 in hybrid/pbx mode. Thanks in advance for any help

Check and see if the trunk line for the fax has been moved to the new extension. If not the easiest way to program would be to figure out what the old extension # is now and just do a copy lines/trunks to the current extension. Good Luck!

You need to go into voice mail admin. If you have a merlin mail, its under "system" options. It has an option for you to change the extension number of the fax, so that when the Auto Attendant answers the call and hears the CNG tone from the calling fax machine, it will transfer to this fax extension in your system.
