I am losing my head right now. I thought i saw a way to remove THE DNS Suffix from the username when logging into a domain.

All of the users have to put username@domain.com and password to login. If you select computername(this computer) from the dropdown list you have to enter username@domain.com, if i select the domain name from the list it, all i have to enter is the username.

I believe you can make this so that you can only enter the username without the suffix, or at least only have the domain reflect in the drop down list. I really do not like showing the domain, but i will deal with it if i can not have to use username@domain.com.

Can someone please help. I think i am real close to what i need to do.

actually your answers are no and no

use of a upn (user@domain.com) is required when the domain is not selected in the dropdown (in fact, it should grey out the ability to select from the dropdown when you put a upn as the username)

it is not possible to limit the dropdown list. by default, except for DCs, it will always show the local computer, as well as any trusted domains.

theres no getting around this....except to move to a workgroup....

I will take that answer. I only found reg hacks to hide the dropdownlist and set the default domain, but no removal of the suffix. I appreciate the response.
