remotely connection to work pc from home pc

my friend just broke his leg and needs to access his files from his pc and server at work from home. Is there a simle way to do this?

Your friend will need to speak to the IT dept regarding any remote access facilities in place and whether its possible for him to connect to their server.
He certainly won't be able to access files stored on his PC unless it runs remote control software, which is unlikely unless the IT dept have some sort of management system in place (ZenWorks, Landesk, MS SMS Server) etc. If they don't, and there is no problem with data, the easiest way would be to email the files or burn them off to a CD and send it to him.

Howdy,

I'd use Netmeeting's Remote Desktop feature. I think it only works external to the network if it's NT, 2000 or XP though, not sure how if it's not one of those.
