We will be installing several remote EPNs in different states and wish to administer them when in each office, via a SAT at each cabinet, hoping to connect at 9600 by putting a TN726B on each cabinet, administering a data module with a port from that card, then connecting that port to a Z3A2 ADU and crossover cable to the terminal. We would then dial from that terminal to the lead number in a hunt group, the members of which are all System Port data modules. This is working locally, but we wonder if it would work over T-1 to our out-of-state EPNs. You thoughts?

You don't need a data module. There is a TERM connector at the back of each EPN cabinet. Just connect an EIA cable between that and the SAT treminal. If your switch is V9 or better and you have a C-LAN board you can do admin via IP.

I think the EPN SAT connection is only 1200 or 2400 baud however. I would skip the 726 at each office and just use an 8400B data module on a DCP port. A lot less work and wiring.

I have connections now at 2400 in a separate location, but that's hitting system ports. If you are saying that I can use a typical 715 SAT connected via EIA to TERM on the backplane to connect through the C-LAN, I'd like to know how to keystroke the commands to make that happen. Otherwise, the 8400 concept seems the path to go. Do you currently have an IP connection from a remote cabinet through CLAN?

The best and fasted method is definitly over IP. You just have to configure your ASA with the IP address of the switch. I do this with 3 switches in different locations.
