I need to install a remote shelf about a 1/4 mile away. I have fiber between the two sites ready and waiting and have an expansion cabinet. Does anyone know what the part numbers are for the Fiber Receiver card for the remote shelf and the daughterboard that goes on the main cabinet's SSC card?

I have a NTDK23AA card and a NTDK22AA daughterboard but I believe they are for an expansion cabinet and not for long haul remote shelves. There is a difference, right?

In the Option 11c instalation book they list the NTDK22 and 23 cards for 10 meters. Ther are The NTDK79, 80, 84 and 85 cards for distances up to 3 kilometers. Have you looked in to fiber extenders? I used them on a Norstar once. Worked well. I don't remember the manufacturer, it was about 5 years ago.

although nortel doesn't support fiber extenders, i have seen them work

Thanks. I don't worry to much what Nortel supports and doesn't support. We have never gotten suppport from them anyway. We maintain ourselves or contract out Bell for the tough stuff.

Thanks guys. Will look deeper.
