Hi everyone,
I have a customer who is using an eMG80 with Bri lines and Digital TDM phones. They're now wanting to use it in a more unified manner with remote workers, using UCS, UCSmobile and iPhones.
If they have some LIP phones for remote workers will they be able to use them wherever they have available a hard connection to the internet? I.e. Plugged into a client's network. Obviously I realise the eMG80 needs voip channels opened up and a PSU for the phone. Anything else?
Regards
Mark

Hi Jonah29

Yes that's fine, 2 channels of VOIP as standard on the eMG80. You also receive 2xUCS Voice, 2xUCS Mobile and 2xClickcalls. Will always work best on a VPN but you can use NAT with a suitable router at the system site. You're obviously aware that only 2 devices can connect at any one time as standard and you would require the additional licenses for more concurrent IP devices.

Hi Eats,
Thanks for that. As long as the lip phone could work from any location, i think they want it to move round with the user.
Yes I am aware that currently only 2 x VOIP Ch are available. I plan to licence a few more. So apart from making sure there are enough Voip ch available what other licences are required for a remote LIP phone? I know UCS and UCSMob are a separate licence.
I have another question. If I were setting up UCS and UCS mobile would I actually have to have the Users PC and Mobile in my hands? Or could I do what i need to on the phone system and just get them to install the application?

regards

The mobile app is pretty much straight forward and after doing a couple you can talk the end user through it. The UCS voice could also be done remotely but you would probably need to be teamviewed in or use another remote service to gain access to the PC and set up for them. There's a few more details required on the setup and tick boxes etc to be programmed.

The setting up on the phone system can be done remotely too.

Best of installing on your own mobile and laptop a few times to get accustomed to it.
