remote info site definition failure

I have created a site with Dreamweaver mx 2004 and uploaded the files etc using WS_FTP this works fine userid passwords ftp and all work. Then filled out the page of Site Definition at Remote Info using the same ftp addresses and verified by the hosting company as correct. the connection to server "test" fails suggesting permission failure. a browser connection using ftp address and login works. have I missed a setting in Dreamweaver? Thanks

It should just work with the details. Are you checking the "passive FTP" box?

There is nothing special about the dreamweaver FTP module...except that it isn't particularly good.

are you sure you not trying to use 'testing server' as in testing server for some dynamic page?
Like Microbe said...if it is ftp connection only...check your settings. If on XP> then check that your firewall allows/exceptions for Dreamweaver.
