When someone uses remote desktop, do they take over the computer or can 2 people use the XP machine at once?

For instance, can they access an application and use your computer to connect to the internet over a network? If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.

No, remote desktop will lock the desktop and kick out any local users.

Sorry, but that is not entirely complete.
When a PC is used with Remote Desktop, the local user looses the Desktop, and vice versa.
But, the services still run, so the pc is still accessible over the LAn and you can still use the shares, printing, etc.
Don't login to that PC though, as you will kick the Remote Desktop user.
