I'm sure this has been covered numerous times, but I still have a question. For some reason when I changed the name on a pc I lost my remote dial in capability. I was under the impression that port 3389 was the only port that had to be punched out. Am I incorrect. I am using a linksys broadband router with no additional firewall. Is there anything else I should be configuring?

Does it error out on trying it...or just not work?
Is it possible the name (registry record, too) is used in the verification process and it fails because it's changed?
Search for occurrences of the old name in the registry and correct them.

daren33, you are correct if you're using the remote desktop client, you only need to forward 3389. If you're using the router's DHCP function, when you changed the remote computer name, it could have gotten a new IP address which would mean that you need to update the address your router is forwarding 3389 to.
