Few months ago we setup a exchange on windows 2003 server. Remote desktop was working fine but now it does not connect from a remote machine through Remote desktop. It gives an error message "assign permissions to the user" But I have permissions to connect to the server through remote desktop and I have been connecting to the server before.

I checked the event logs and it says" The terminal grace period has expired and the service has not registered with a license server with installed licenses. A terminal server licence server is required for continuous operation. A terminal server can operate without a license server for 120 days after start up"

I checked the terminal service license on the machine and it is getting info from the domain server, as that is our license server.

I asked somebody else he told me to change the terminal services licencing on the exchange server to terminal service administrative licencing.

I do not see that option anywhere on the server.

Could anybody help me with this issue.

Thanks in advance

you may have installed the licensing server on the exchange box which you would not need if you already have a lisensing server for ts uninstall the lisencing part from the exchange server
