Remote Desktop Not Listening on port 3389 This is starting to confuss the hell out of me.

Stats from portqry.exe

Querying target system called:

tomg

Attempting to resolve name to IP address...

Name resolved to 192.168.101.7

querying...

TCP port 3389 (unknown service): NOT LISTENING
portqry.exe -n tomg -e 3389 -p TCP exits with return code 0x00000001.

If it was a fireall I would get Filterd. I already tested both ways but still no workie.

If I run netstat -an on the laptop I get

TCP 0.0.0.0:3389 0.0.0.0 LISTRNING

I can ping with IP and FQDN.

It is enabled. What am I missing??

Do you have the option checked to Allow users to connect remotely to your computer in System Properties?

I am not sure what you are really asking here??

I am trying to login as the system admin,BUT rdp does not even find the TS server.

I am getting this error now on more then one laptop. All of which seem to be dells.

I need it to work.. The way our techs help our sales across country :(

ckugo is suggesting that your clients have the Remote Desktop feature turned off. If this is the case you cannot use the Remote Assistance feature to connect to them.

If you right-click on My Computer and select the "Remote" tab you will see all the Remote assistance options.

Check to see if they are turned on.

Oh, Yes I do have that turned on. I apllyed then tryed restarting. After restarting checked the boc and still checked. BUT I still get port not listening from remote machine, after I can still ping it, and the local machine says listening.

I am still not sure what to do.
