Has anyone encountered this before? XP desktop box on a landline broadband connection. NGage phone (no cell service enabled) with BlueTooth. XP Laptop switchable between wireless and landline.

My friend connects up the NGage to the desktop box with BlueTooth. If, and don't ask me why he does this because I have no clue what he's trying to accomplish, he connects up to the desktop from his laptop via Remote Desktop, it kills the BlueTooth connection from the NGage. I believe he had the laptop in "landline" mode at the time. Now he's trying to figure out why Remote Desktop and BlueTooth won't play nice.

Any thoughts?

Linney,

Thanks for the links. I'll let you know if they help as soon as I get a chance to look at them.

When he connects via Remote Desktop, the locally logged on user gets logged off. Therefore, my guess is that the bluetooth connection (and/or any NGage software) is running as a program for the locally logged on user, not as a service that always on. This gets terminated when the local user is logged off. Is your friend using the same user account for RD as the locally logged on account? Can the connection be restarted by remote?
