Hi,
i have a WinXp Pro SP3 and i'm trying to get the RD working on it. I've done it before and it was working fine on that machine but lately i can't connect to it anymore. When i try to connect to this machine i don't even get any error messages. When i press "Connect" button it goes gray for a split second and then becomes active again. It is not a router problem since i tried connecting the machine directly to the internet and i get the same problem. I can ping the machine and if i disable the Remote Desktop and try to connect to it the connection dialog hangs as it tries to connect and then times out saying the connection cannot be established. So it seems that RD (when it's enabled) receives the connection but refuses to accept it. And i don't provide any login info at that stage. So it is definitely something with the RD on that machine, but i can't figure out what. Has anyone had this problem?

Does the machine have Adobe products on it? Maybe Adobe Elements or photoshop? Those products have some sort of auto-download from digital camera service which causes issues exactly like you describe. You can disable those services to get your RDP working again. They don't hurt the Adobe software functionality, just the auto-download function.
