Hey everybody...

Another problem I am having is that I used to able to connect to one of my mail servers (win2k machine sp4) from my xp pro machine (xp with sp1). I fear that someone may have been fiddling and now I'm not able to access it. Everything seems to be okay, I even re-installed the terminal services but to no avail. I get the following message...

"The client could not connect to the remote computer.

Remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new connections. It is also possible that network problems are preventing your connection."

Any help would be great!!

When you try to connect to the server, did you use the hostname or IP address...or both?

Try the IP if you haven't already.

Check on the server if it is still allowed to accept remote connections, you said someone may have been fiddling...

Also I had this happen here recently and it turned out to be a licensing issue (on our Terminal Server we never activated our licenses and on day 90, all remote desktop connections were kaput. Al of our TS users were able to connect. Check your Event Logs on the server.

21-0 and counting.

GO SOX!!!

Didn't have time to go on with this problem but finally found out what it was.

If you look under the 'terminal services configuration' there is an object called connections. The connection from that box had been deleted (who knows how but I'm sure that's an interesting story) anwayz... I created a new connection under there with standard tcp as the transport and I believe RDP5 as the protocol and ta dah it now works. Thanks for the help I got though guys.
