I'm trying to setup my pc so I can access it from work as a test for a project a client wants me to setup for her. I have went through all the steps of installing iss on my pc and I setup a virtual server in my router but I still cannot connect.
My pc has xp pro with all updates, I have a zoom adsl x6 router thats 2 months old. When I check my ip address I can see the address assigned to my router by my isp and I'm wondering if i need to also put my pc ip in the url along with the ip of my router when i try to connect.
I also am not sure what protocals to allow for this. My router has a long list when trying to set this up. I have tcp selected but do I need something else? This is a first for me so be gentile! thanks in advance

This question (below) was asked in the thread mentioned, maybe you could look at that and see if it helps?

"The guy has a router with a small network connected and wishes to connect to one pc from home via the Internet. I see he has to enter an IP address. I presume this is the IP supplied by the ISP, but how does he identify the pc on the network he wishes to use?"

Have look too around the whole of this site.

Everything i'm reading says to forward a certain port for tcp protocals.....3389....but half of everything else says a port of my choice. I've tried it all and i still can't get access. What am I doing wrong?
