Running two 8720 Avaya servers and would like to create a cover path for two remote users cell phones. Is there a way a call coming in on DID number to my switch that I can route it to a remote users cell phone and if user does not answer call I can route it to a second remote user cell phone?

Thanks

what type of trunk do you have, if pri you can do a incoming call handling treatment

Yes, I would be using ATT PRI trunk for the outbound calls.

create an xport station, do a change coverage remote, at the line number 1 for example enter the cell number, now add cov path next, at point one put r1, now go back and add that new coverage path to the xported station, last do a change incoming call handling for that trunk number and point to the xported station make sure to delete digits and add the new 4 digit extension, hope I didn't confuse you. good luck

Thanks so far, I think I am close but still not working.

Could you explain why I would need to have an entry in the inc-call-handling-trmt command for the DID station to make remote connection?

I have the below cov path set up that does call r4 location but will be come back to the switch to rollover to internal voice mail if not answered.

display coverage path 8

I have 'Cvg of Calls Redirected Off-net = Y' that should monitor call and send controll back to switch to allow call to rollover to voice mail. Call go to remote number r4 and does not come back to switch after 2 rings, goes to remote number voice mail. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

sorry then assign a coverage path (remote coverage list) for users phone, change coverage remote assign telephone number to line 1 for example r1, then add coverage path next, put r1 in point 1 of coverage path and then assign to station.

on page 2 of the station form what does
Code:
 Coverage After Forwarding?
say? Might try playing with that one.

I have added two remote call coverage numbers into 'remote call coverage' table slots 2 and 3 and entered r2 in 'point1 with 3 rings' in the cover path and r3 in 'point2 with 3 rings'. I know when using remote numbers for cover path you have to have 'Cvg Of Calls Redirected Off-net? y' turned on in the system features to monitor remote calls. When I test call coverage call never rolls from point1 call coverage path to 'point2' in cover path, calls terminate at once remote number in the cover path.

Not able to get call to roll from cov path point1 to point2 if first remote number does not answer after 3 rings. It just rings and rolls into the remote number voice mail account.

Am I missing something else for two remote numbers being used in cover path.

Thanks

two options here, either have the cell phone voicemail pushed out to maybe 5 or 6 rings, or shorten you remote coverage paths to two rings, I would go with option 1.

I did try changes to number of rings in the 'point1' and 'point2' ring fields for both remote numbers in the new cover path that was created, still not able to have remote numbers defined in 'remote call cover table' to return control of call from point1 to point2. Also changed my cell phone number to ring 35 seconds before going to voice mail and my test remote call just rang until call went to my cell phone instead of ringing twice and giving control of call back to Avaya switch and dialing 'point2' remote number.

It seems like I am still missing some setting that monitors remote number calls and returns control back to switch and then tring 'point2' in the cover path.

Thanks

You mean maybe something like this?

● The Answer Supervision feature provides supervision of a call directed out of the server
either by coverage or forwarding and determines whether Communication Manager should
bring the call control back to its server.

Depending on the type of trunk you are sending the covered call out, this field is on page 2 of ISDN trunks.

BINGO!!!!!

That did the trick, once I made a couple of changes in the COVERAGE OF CALLS REDIRECTED OFF-NET (CCRON) area I was able to get control of call if remote number did not answer and route call to next cover point.

Thanks
