Remote control not working after upgrading server.

The remote control from multiple computers is not working after server was upgraded to windows 2000 server from NT 4.0. It is giving me the message that "the database could not be found with the name supplied." It seems the only way it will work is if I make myself a local administrator on the server. Is this what has to be done? I cannot give some of the helpdesk people access to this server and I sure this is not right. Can anyone help me with this situation. You help is greatly appreciated.

P.S. This is SMS sp3.
