Remote Connection Abruptly Interrupted 1

Please help!!!!

I have an exchange server 5.5 and I can send and receive emails internally and externally.

We normally receive orders via email from one particular email address but all of a sudden we have stopped receiving.

When the sender from this particular email address sends. they now get "Remote Connection Abruptly Interrupted".

What can cause this problem??

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Are you having problems receiving mail from other external clients?
Is this particulair client having problems sending mail to other people?
When do they get this message? Is it contained in a mail that get bounced back to them?

Thanks for your quick response.

To answer your questions

No we do not have problems receiving mail from other external clients.

This particular client does not have problems sending mail to other people.

They do get this message contained in the mail that gets bounced back to them.
 
Is this happening when the sender sends to one particulair address or to all addresses in your domain?
Have you installed firewalls or spam filters lately?
Can you ask them to try sending to a few different people in your company as a test.
To be honsest I havent come across this particuliar message before myself and find it strange but hopefully we can eliminate some possible causes.

The sender cannot send to all addresses in our domain.

We have not installed any spam filters or firewalls recently.

This is looking like an extremely tough one which could also be an issue at there end.

They are telling me they have made no changes.

This is why I am confused with this issue.

I will have a conference call later with all parties involved to make the relivent checks on all systems, unless you have anymore suggestions??
 
We finaly got the sender to admit that they have made some changes to their firewall.

everything is ok now.

Thank god for that! I hadnt come across it before but suspected it was at their end. Sometimes its very hard to get other people admit that they mad changes!
