remote computer management 2k3 server to XP

I have an issue when trying to connect via computer management from 2k3 server to remotely connect to an XP computer when i try to conenct from 2k3 server to the xp client i get the following error message

"computer \\server02.contoso.com cannot be managed. The network path was not found. Choose conenct to another computer from the action menu to manage a differen computer".

This is odd as i was able to join the xp machine to the domain, the dns server is configured to point to the 2k3 server DNS its logged onto contoso domain the computer object is in ADS is there something that i might be doing? i cant figure this one out.

1. Try pinging the machine to ensure connectivity.

2. Try connecting to \\server02.contoso.com\c$
This will tell you if you have permission to do so and whether or not Firwall is blocking your attempts to connect
