remote assistance 1

I can't get remote assistance to work a certain way. I am trying to get offer remote assistance to work, so an invitaion doesn't have to be sent. I am in AD environment. I have enabled the offer assistance option in group policy. I also have remote desktop enabled on each machine and have port 3389 openend on the machine's firewall. It is still being blocked. What am I missing?

Is there a server involved with this setup? What OS? Are you connecting from inside you network or outside?

I am doing this inside my network. I am trying to use this between to XP machines. They do get group policies from a dc, but I configured the policy to allow local exceptions. See, I don't want to have to use email or messenger to initiate the remote assistance. According to Microsoft you can offer remote assistance without being sent an invitation. It just keeps getting blocked.

On the server you can do remote assistance wihtout the request being sent. But not on XP home or Pro, you need to invation to connect to the computer.

Using Remote Assistance, probably not.

You receive an "Access denied" or "The network path was not found" error message when you try to remotely manage a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2
