I'm running SP1 on a primarily Windows XP network, what happens is when I run remote assistance to connect to another machine and control it, it acts like terminal server and locks the host machine down. This will cause a lot of problems for our users and I want to make it as easy as possible to remotely access their computer similar to using PCAnywhere which is what we use currently. Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

I believe you are using remote desktop, not assistance. Remote desktop does not permit a dual session. Remote assistance can.

Connecting with remote desktop implies complete control, and the logoff, of the remote user session.

How secure it Dameware, is it as good as PCAnywhere security or better? Also I wish Windows XP remote assistance worked like WinVNC or something similar.
