Remote Agent won't connect to Media Server on different subnet

Hi, I have a W2K3 server with BackupExec 10d (10.1) installed. Backing up the local server, and several remote servers (using Remote Agent) on the same sugnet work perfectly fine. But on 2 remote subnets the Remote Agent won't connect to the media server at the main site.

In Tools/Options/Network&Firewall I've selected to 'Use any available network route for remote agents not bound to the above Network ID' option but still no luck. Restarting services on both sites doesn't, but apparently should, make a difference. I've run vxmon on the remote server and specified the media server IP address.

The only other thing is that all servers, including the media server, have HP Teamed NICs which is apparently not advised but ALL servers have this including the remote agents on the same subnet which backup fine.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

On the remote server goto veritas\backup exec\rant folder
run vxmon.exe. Have it advertise by IP to you media server and the NIC you want to use. While you in the vxmon I would suggest placing the agent in debug and it may help you out in troubleshooting.

Im assuming you can ping the server by name from the media server and its resolving correctly. Port 10000 must be open in both direction as well.

Thanks for that. Using vxmon is very useful. I found out that if the media (in this case it's a disk) hasn't been written to before then it won't back it up. I did a test backup of just 1 file using the media and then ran the full backup which worked.
