Remote Agent on local media server stops

Hi,

Has anyone come accross a problem where the Remote Agent service on the local Media server stops for no apparent reason??

It happens in the middle of a backup & fails the job.

In the windows event log I get a message like "The Backup Exec Remote Agent service terminated unexpectedly".

What version of Backup Exec? Have you search for any Dr Watson logs?

I checked for Dr Watson errors - but there are none.

Got to be something stopping it. Anything in app/sys logs. Anything using port 10000 on the server or randomly using port 10000 beside backup exec?

Are you running an anit-virus software, Im using NAV and sometime its happening,
Its not something that I like to stop, but sometime you need to

possibly could be corrupt data BE is trying to backup - and is stopping the remote agent.

your best best would be to put the remote agent into debug and try the backup - then you can hopefully see what the error is.
