I used to be able to remotley administer a NT4.0 Server from my desktop. (Users, Shares, Event Viewer). Does 2000 allow the same functionality ?? If so, How ???

Run Computer Manager located in the Admin tools in Control Panel

Then connect to another computer. This tool also can administor NT 4.0

hope this helps

Try to install the admin pak located on 2000 server cd in the i386 directory.

I have no idea if this will work since this relies on allot on 2000 only dlls

You could always just telnet to the server and run the command line tools

Why are you running ME not W2K pro?
Also tell people up front what OS you are trying to adminstor from.

Install terminal services in remote admin mode on y2k server. Then use it to create client disks to install on your workstation. Then you will be able to connect, like vnc or pcanywher, but fast and awesome
