Here we go again.
I decided to reinstall Windows 2000 Pro due to software glitches that have cropped up. I backed up all my data onto another hard drive.
I also want to split my 30 gig drive into 2 partions to be more secure and efficient with my disk space.
I have wipped my hard drive with Partion Magic 5.

1) Should the drive now be formatted NTFS or Fat 32 for the booting Process?

2) Should I use Win 98 boot disk to boot to the CD Rom 1st and then try the Winnt.exe file (Didn't work when I tried)

3) Where can I find the 4 boot disks to boot the system. (I am used to using NT4 and the boot files are on the CD.)

I can answer your third question.

You can create the four boot floppy disks from a program located on the Windows 2000 Professional CD. See the following link for the details:

You can also boot the Windows 2000 Professional CD and install directly from there. This is a much faster way of installation then trying to use the floppies.

Your first two questions may be addressed in the following link:

Hope this helps. Have a good day!

I agreee with Betsy - and it'll actually adress all your concernsm - it will allow you to re-partition and format until your heart is content before starting the install - no previous hard disk preparation required. Heath
