hello,

I am trying to restore "shell.com" in my 98se machine. I was told that if I delete all of the temp cache and recycle bin stuff and then reinstall, not format, but reinstall the O/S in safe mode. The problem is that I can't get my 98 setup disk to run in safe mode. I also tried to boot up in DOS and run it that way but you can only run stuff from the floppy drive and it don't recognize any of the other ROM drives.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

How about trying your EBD, which has CDROM drivers as one of the choices. Move to the Cd and run setup.
