Hi i am in need of some real help please.
I am a tech phob! I asked my brother to wipe my laptop and restart it. I thought this was an easy thing to do. Apparntly it is if you put the right XP system back n according to the key you have.
I have an XP pro key.
He part installed XP Home. it is stuck at the 4th part of the install process
My problem is i cant put XP Pro on until i remove the part installion of XP Home.
How can i do this?
Please help as i am pulling my hair out as i have no access to my banking and so forth as i have a problem with doing that in internet cafes.
A huge thankyou in advance
Andy

Take the Xp Pro Cd and boot the machine with it, then use that to wipe the machine again, and start over.

Make sure they key you have matches this version of the install media this time.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

Keys are NOT interchangeable. A PRO key cannot be used to install windows after using a HOME CD to install and vice versa. Same thing goes for Retail vs. OEM CDs.
