I had a lot of trouble with spyware, so I removed it with Spybot and Adaware 6. Then something messed up with internet explorer, so i had to do a system restore. Now regsvr32.exe keeps running every other second in the task manager. Is this normal? Is there a way to stop it or do i need to just let it run until it stops? (if it ever will)

regsvr32.exe is used to register dll/ocx files on your system. The fact that it keeps running is quite worrying, especially as you have had spyware problems. Follow the instructions in faq779-5240 and see if it solves your problem.

Oh, nevermind. Damn Hotmail bar. Sorry bout that.

I've gone through all of the steps in the FAQ and my problem still happens.

When did you go through the steps? If it was prior to leaving your original post, i would recommend running at least two of the AntiVirus Scans.

If you really don't want to run the scans then post a list of your startup items so that we can try and determin what might be causing this.

I ran all of the steps before the post. I've done a 2 complete virus scans with norton 2004, unfortunately i don't have 2 anti virus programs.

Here's a list of the programs that are running at startup:
regsvr32.exe (comes on and off)
ccapp.exe
hpsysdrv.exe
svchost.exe
nopdb.exe
scsiaccess.exe
scagent.exe
nprotect.exe
navapsvc.exe
kodakccs.exe
ghosts~2.exe
explorer.exe
alg.exe
spoolsv.exe
ccevtmgr.exe
svchost.exe
svchost.exe
svchost.exe
svchost.exe
lsass.exe
services.exe
winlogon.exe
csrss.exe
smss.exe
system
system idle process

In the FAQ779-5240 post it gives links to online virus scans. I also use norton but it never picks everything up.

Also there does not seem to be anything bad in your list. However after trying at least one of the online scans try the Hijack This software to create a startup list. Then post the results of that here.
