Not sure if this is the right forum... but I'll ask anyway. We have an app that stores entries to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\COMPANY\CLIENT

It seems that on reboot at times all entries in the CLIENT key are deleted\lost.

Have no idea why, doesn't happen every time.

Please ask any questions, add your comments or similiar experiences.

What environment/use? (is it just one user logon - or several, is it standalone or part of domain, are their any policies (doamin or group) in force?

Environment: client = W2k Pro, server = unkown (either NT 4 or W2K)

One user Logon.

Part of domain.

Policies... unsure (probably not).

This is in a corporate environment and happens on my development machine every so often also. The above holds true for my criteria.

So its a domain user id you logon with? Do you use roaming profiles? (what I'm thinking is sometimes there's a problem saving profile back to server - so next time you log on you get 'old' profile without your last session updates. Windows does usually warn you in these situations though - that local profile is newer. Also, this would affect other settings - though if you don't change much/anything else you wouldn't notice).
Anyway, first guess!

Thanks for your help... I have seen that message before (however, no... that message does not appear).
