I need to remove My computer, Recycle Bin and My Network Places from the desktop of a Win2k box. But here is the catch (for all you gpedit.msc people)...I need to keep two icons on the desktop for 3rd party programs. So, I can't configure gpedit.msc to remove "all" icons. Anyone now of how this can be done?

Probably, if you run the registry editor and go to
H_L_M\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace you will find some CLSIDs displayed, each representing an icon. If you select one, it will be identified in the right pane. If you want to remove the icon from the desktop, first export the key. Then you can delete the CLSID.
