I've been having trouble with my computer ever since i've had it (almost a year now). My registry corrupts on a regular basis. After chasing some dead end streets and ideas that some peole had (bad software, bad memory, etc.), I've found some threads on a Google group that suggest that some computers that are running up around 1ghz processor speed are shutting down faster than Win2K can finish its shut down procedures (some of which include the registry i guess) and are corrupting the registry (specifically the software hive). The only possible fix that people have been able to come up with that consistantly worked across the board has been to Restart instead of Shutdown and then upon boot-up click off your power. Has anyone else heard of this problem...or maybe just some thoughts on the subject???
My likelyhood of having the problem definitely seem to increase once i've shut down, but i'm just not experienced enough to know if this is the problem.
