I have a video adapter which is flickering.
Chiptype:NGA-G2000 E8R3
DAC TYPE 250MHZ
16MB
The monitor is a matrox graphic
I am trying to change the refresh rate on the adapter which is currently at 60hz. When I try to up this rate it automatically changes the resolution from 800*600 to the next higher levels.
How can i seperate the two?

I believe the resolution is just the default aspect of the refresh rate. I am unsure if you can separate the two initially. You will always have an automatic change in resolution with a new refresh rate. Unless your PC is currently at the supported reolution. Please let us (Tek-tips members) know if the solutions we provide are helpful to you. Not only do they help you but they may help others.

You,re right they are linked
I found a listing on the display applet where you can select different refresh rates while maintaining the resolution.
