Refresh Active Desktop Automatically?

Is there a script/batch file/vbcode or anything I can use to automatically refresh my desktop every hour?

I figured if I had some sort of batch file that runs a windows command to refresh the desktop and used the scheduled tasks program to run it once an hour it would work fine.

However I'm having no luck finding such a command/script. I do know a fair share of VB, so if it can be semi-easily coded, I could just call the .exe every hour.

The reason for this is, I have an item on my active desktop that has a counter, this counter counts by seconds, up to an hour. After an hour, it closes the connection, so I need to refresh. I realize I could just right-click and refresh, but I'd like it automated.

Thanks!

Zenenigma - did you solve this problem? I got a similar one... Thanks...
