I formatted my 60G IBM drive with a 125MB FAT16 Boot partition (C:\). I then carved up 3 NTFS partitions (D,E & F) with Win2K installed on D:\ and one 98 partition on (G).
Somewhere in the rebuild, I managed to install some scanning software and Acrobat reader on the boot partition. Doh!
I've been experiencing some system instability...system freezes & the like. The instability was there before the reformat...4 red LEDs on my MSI 6195. I'm concerned that my motherboard may be behind the problems although the instability has diminsihed somewhat.
I am also using an ATI All in Wonder 128 that (according to many many internet posts by other Win2K/ATI AIW 128 users) can result in freezes of Win2K. System freezes after 2-3 minutes of watching TV. System will also regularly freeze for no other apparent reason while NOT watching TV...hence my suspicion that the motherboard may be behind the problem.
Anyway, because I've also gunked up my boot partition, I want to clean that up but I'm not sure how to go about it the best way. Is there a way to uninstall from the boot part? (Maybe the software is not technically 'installed' on c:\ ...but there's a bunch of files there.) Can I just delete the files?
Should I re-format c:\ ?? If I do that, how can I reformat so as not to screw up my extended partitions?
Thanks in advance.
