Is there a way to automatically change the layout of an Excel spreadsheet so that the column headings become the row headings and vice versa, and all the data falls into place? This would be the equivalent of taking the entire table and reflecting all the data about a diagonal line going from the upper left of the table to the lower right of the table. This is not the same as rotating the table.
Any ideas of how to automate this, short of redoing the entire spreadsheet? Thanks!

If it's pure data you just paste the area to the clipboard and paste it back using one of the options under paste special.

If there are formulas you have a problem.

BEAUTIFUL! The Paste Special option is Transpose. I did need to make sure that if, for example, I chose 100R X 16C, that I pasted it into a selected area of 16R X 100C. I was just working with pure data, not formulas. However, formulas would not have been a problem since I could have first copied and done a Paste Special, choosing Values to convert from formulas to data before proceding with the flip. Thanks so much for your help! [2thumbsup]

Thanks for the star - it's one of those things that's easy when you know how
