Is there any way to reference material that appears in the headers on my master pages in my table of contents?

I think not. IME TOCs are built based on paragraph tags in a text flow. Also, I am wondering why you would want to do this. You must have some special reason that may be better handled in another manner.

Best regards,

Henry

I didn't think so...but I thought I'd ask. I'm writing a book that is 100% Tables, except for the headers and footers which correspond to different car models. I wanted the change in car model to appear in the TOC. I've just been creating an extra "title page" with text flow to reference the TOC, but it's taking up extra space, so I was hoping there was some other way. Sometimes I have 14 pages of tables, others only 1 page... so in some cases, an extra title page seems a little much. But the Boss doesn't want the title in the text flow so I guess this is how I'll have to do it...

thanks for the input!

This might sound a little screwy but, you could put an index marker in the first row of your table and build an index in the front of your book that would essentially act as a TOC.

Or, use a table title in your tables and use it for your TOC tag. This might take up valuable space though. However, you could then eliminate your headers (running headers, I assume) while maintaing car model.

Or, find someone who can program using the FM SDK. Some of these folks can do most anything. You might try on the Adobe FM forum. I know some of them hang out there and are quite reasonable.
