Reduced functionality?

I have always used CPEAuto32.dll and the formula functions under SectionOptions.

Since CPEAuto32.dll does not support PDF, Crystal suggests we use the 'new' method: CRAXDRT.dll (which does support pdf in 8.5).

However, the CRAXDRT no longer supports (or gives access to) these formulas. (for example, in Section Options, we had BackColorFormula and VisibleFormula)

Does anyone know if these formulas are accessible somehow? Sort of makes for a hard choice on upgrading...
