Some info - we have 3 Win 2003 servers, 1 for ISA, 1 for Exchange and 1 for the Domain controller (all patched and up-to-date). We also have 1 Netware 6 (SP5) server. Some users are experiencing very slow connections to the Netware volumes mapped through their login scripts (not net use) when they first connect.
Also, UNC mapped drives return an error saying they cant connect - the resource may be unavailable, which it clearly isnt because if you map the drive (map g:\vol\data) it works! I have seen the document on the MS site explaining about the redirector issue but cant seem to make much sense of it as it doesnt give a clear explanation of how to actually resolve the problem. Do they mean Webdav should be disabled on the domain controller or not. In my case it is already disabled on th DC. In another post someone mentioned that their server was listening on port 80, then changed the remote access port to another and all was working fine. 1) how do you tell which services are listening on port 80 (http) and 2) why would changing the port or disable the service listeneing on it resolve the redirector issue. Can someone please explain in English the steps to resolve this issue.
The clients are all XP with SP2 and the latest Novell client. Web Client is also that last in the redirector processor list as recommened.
Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.
Jeff
