hi i have a windows 98 box that is running an application that will only print to lpt1 i have fitted a usb printer and now want to redirect lpt1 to usb ive tried the net use command but this dosnt work on win 98 so can anyone recomend a util or a way to do this

redirecting lpt1 to usb

Had the same issues with the NET commands - they're ok in W2K and XP but not W98.
Download DOSprn178.exe from This solved the problem I had trying to print output from a very old dBase programme to a modern USB printer.
