I was wondering, i have a server running 2003 server with all of the lastest updates, and isa server 2004 running on the server, now i have it setup the way i want but i want to add a backup route for the traffic in case the firewall service or the proxy service stops working or responding. I am wondering if i need another proxy server or can i just a regular server. Well i implemented the isa server, and well if it goes down i don't want the network to lose internet access, so traffic would be passed along to another connection or server, how ever it would work, but some ideas would be great so i have a better understanding of how this feature works.

I configure my isa (isa standard) to route to upstrem server (another isa with other isp) but I have to enable the rule manually.

Yea i came across that same option but we only have 1 T1 for net and another one for voice so its not that easy, i had another idea, tell me what you think. create another b.s. server and just keep it there with all of the same information, like server name, static ip and same settings that the main one has so if the main one goes down i can just switch the network cable and since the information the same i don't have to really worry about it, now this is a theory so i hope it works. And when i got the main one back up and running just switch them back at the end of the day. It sounds like a good theory so who knows but if it works i will post the results.
