I have an Intuity Audix 5.143 that seems to go down every other week. Mangement wants to be able to automatically redirect covered calls that should go to Audix, to my attendants, anytime Audix is down. I tried adding a final coverage point that is a vdn that routes callers to my attendants, in all coverage paths that contained my Audix hunt group. This did not work when Audix was down, calls just rang open.

I also added a cover path with an announcement to my Audix hunt group, but calls to the Audix hunt group came back as busy when Audix was down.

Any suggestions ? The pbx is a G3SI V11

my suggestion would be to find out why the Intuity Audix is 'going down' every other week.

We know why. Trying to get Avaya to fix it is a different problem.

go into each one of your extensions that are in the Audix hunt group (change station 'x'). on that first page you will see a 'Hunt-To-Station' field. put your attendant's extension in there. it will only hunt to the attendant if that particular analog extension is busy.

Thanks, but you are not getting it. The analog extensions inside of the Audix hunt group won't be busy. They just ring open if Audix is down. What I want is to do 2 things:

When my users call into Audix to check messages I want them to hear a recorded announcementtelling them Audix is down for maintenance and when an outside caller dials one of my users, I want that call to bypass the Audix hunt group (when Audix is down) and redirect to my attendant.

I think the best you will be able to do is forward your Audix hunt group to your attendant without making major changes.

Also be careful. Their is not a way to status the hunt group.

You could also (and this may be the easiest way for you). Add a hunt group night service to your group. If it goes down place a HU-ns button on your phone for that group. Then hit the button and calls are routed to where ever you have your hunt group night service.

When is the last time you helped someone, just because you were able to?

the only thing that i can think of is to put a second point in your cover path for the Audix hunt group.

Maybe you can try this:
add the attd as last point in each coverage path and do a busy out of the Audix trunk when Audix goes down.

If the system then wants to send a call to Audix it will not find an available line (because trunk is down) and it will take the next cover point aka the attendant.

Note: have not tried it myself (for obvious reasons) but you can give it a shot.
Will ofcourse not work when Audix goes down outside business hours.

Asumming most of users probably use the same cover path,I would change the hunt group the cover paths points to temporarily with a new hunt group.Instead of going to like Hunt99 I would send it to vXXXX and have the VDN point to a vec with an announcement.Once voice mail is back online then ytou can easily change the hunt group back to the original in the coverage path.

I agree with spunkysus, it is very easy just to change VM coverpath to point to a new destination

the OP's management wants it to happen automatically.
if you will just put the attendant in as the second point in the cover path, it will send the calls to the attendant when Audix doesn't answer at the first cover point.
